Hi you Guys!
Just heard from Rachel about her Para jump - how brave of her. But how are you guys coping with such an awful prognosis for young Rhys?
Really sorry to hear how poorly he is and here`s hoping yoyu all get to Lapland. Its a really magical experience...we went a few years agao with Dave and Jo and the children.
From my work I have some idea of what you two are going through and I only hope you are getting the help and support you so rightly deserve.....if not, keep rattling those cages and keep banging that drum!!!! Love to you both and the boys, thinking of you and well done Rachel. Here`s hoping she gets strapped to a really hunky guy (sory Jason!) We will help all we can.
Lots of love Val & Trev XXXX

Dear Rhys
We are sorry to be so far away when what we want is to be with you all. Can't wait for this weekend to be here, Rach is getting steamed about the jump, Alysha see's every plane in the sky and asks if its the one mummy will be jumping from? Me, well I just think she's brave but we all know who the true hero is! Trying to get Andy to join us for the weekend, 3 adults and two children in a caravan???? Sounds like fun, who needs sleep anyway? Loved the pictures of Disney, the boys look like they were having a great time.
Will be great to see you all. Have tried talking Rach into a topless jump, now thats something I could get some serious sponsorship for, especially if its televised! Perhaps if there are any buxom beauties out there up for it..............? I understand one jumper has pulled out so perhaps we could fit in a last minute 38ff replacement?
See you Friday, love to all xx

Greetings Rhys & Family,

I work with Steve one of the guys who was gunna do the jump last saturday. He came back to work today and the look of dissappointment on his face because the jump was unable to go ahead because of the conditions was dis-heartning.

The courage it takes to jump out of a plane, is more than I could give. But the courage to carry on and fight an illness like NEMO is even greater. My plegde money is still being given..just in the hope that you Rhys will have a trip of a lifetime!

Fair thee well little man.

Our thoughts and best wishes are with you.

Hi everyone! First time Ive posted here, and am writing on behalf of myself (Kevins brother and uncle of the terrible 2) Liz ( my wife) and Danielle and Gareth (Rhys and Morgans cousins).
I justed wanted to say how proud we are of all of them! The way in which Kevin and Dawn are working through this difficult time is incredible. They show such strength and devotion that we can only look on them with admiration. The past few years have been very difficult for them all and I don't know where they draw their strength and hope from. (From each and their two beautiful children). Liz and I know very well how desperately they both wanted children and the lengths they went to; in order that they became parents (and fantastic ones at that).
I am sorry I couldnt do the sky dive. I am absolutely petrified of heights and having said YES initially just couldn't bring myself to do it. But, Kev and I are in the very early stages of arranging another fundraising event which will hopefully take place in the spring. I will put more posts as and when I get more information and keep you updated.
Kev, Dawn we are all really proud of you!!!!
love Liz Ralph, Danielle and Gareth

Hi Guys
If the boys are anything like the Quidenham children they are nearly popping their corks with Christmas excitement. The tree is up and sparkling, Santa`s lists have been written and posted and the outside lights are twinkling well, everyone is excited!...and that includes the grown-ups!
Just wondering how Rachel got on and whether she made the final jump date. Hope the Lapland trip materialised - you will all have a fantastic time. Have a fab time....and at Christmas - love to Rudolph (yes, he is there!) hang on tight on the sleigh ride, those huskies really move - thinking of you all

Hello, we just wanted to say we are praying and wishing you good thoughts for your BMT decision and a stupendious outcome. Stay strong. This circle we are all in will some day really enrich our lives and we will be a big group of very strong, happy, very grateful people. God Bless, Simons Mom

Just a Christmas wish from a friend you have yet to meet. My name is Mike Cadogan and I have been made aware of Rhys through my very good friend Steve Britton. Through him I have been drawn in to the life of this incredible boy, so much so I would be privileged to throw my hat into the ring and come on your next parachute jump and also the cycle awareness ride (that is if you need a spare body).

I hope the Harris family has a magical Christmas and I look forward to meeting you all in the New Year

Love and best wishes from the whole of the Cadogan family, your in our prayers.

We are so glad to hear about your wonderful trip to Lapland. You know our prayers are always with you and hope to hear good things after your meeting for BMT.

Love and a Happy HEALTHY New Year to All,

Hi Rhys & Family.

I am a music student from Neath Port Talbot College, and my fellow students and I came across your article in Wales on Sunday about Rhys.
Your story affected the hearts of many who read the paper, and from this we decided that we would greatly like to take part in your cause and contribute to your fund.

Therefore we would like to put on a show in the college theatre, to aid your charity. We would also be honoured for you to make and appearance at the show if this is possible.
Would you also please contact us with details of where to send the raised funds to you, and any other information you wish for us to consider and look over which can help us with this.

With thanks

Dear Rhys & family,
My name is Roy Davies and I have just read about Rhys´illness. I am writing from São Paulo in Brazil where I have been living since 1971 but I stll consider NEWBRIDGE to be my real home.
In 1952 I needed surgery to remove my spleen to cure a problem similar to haemophilia. After a couple years under observation and scores of tests at the Royal Gwent I spent six weeks in St Woolos Hospital for the op. My parents were told there was only a 50/50 chance of success... it was only the second time such an attempt had been taken to resolve the problem I was suffering from.
Result:
In the 1950´s and 60´s I played both cricket and rugby in Newbridge...and nowadays, at 65 years of age, I continue to spend around 10hrs per week working out in the gym and still work as a teacher of English.
Meet the challenge head on. My best wishes and prayers will now accompany you all in this great challenge and I will follow up intently Rhys´progress.
Que Deus os abençoe (May God bless you all).

Dear Rhys and Family,

I read about Rhys in yesterdays Daily Mail and was so moved by his story. I wish you all the luck in the world for what lies ahead for all of you.

My son has a immune deficiency (IgA deficiency - although this is nothing compared to what Rhys has) so I know what its like to worry constantly about infections and illness. I don't think I can recall a week when my son has not been ill.

I wish Rhys lots and lots of courage and I send lots of special thoughts to you all.

Keep strong and God Bless

Hi Rhys, Dawn and Kevin,
Thanks for signing our guestbook. It is always so nice to meet and be in contact with other NEMO families. I've been wanting to get in touch with the whole group, it just seems that the families are always so busy, taking care of an illness or dealing with the stresses of transplant. We always have the NEMO boys in our prayers, all 11 of them, and know that you are continually in our thoughts as well. We wish you the best with upcoming procedures and pray that Rhys will stay as healthy as possible until then. Thanks again for contacting us.

I know I have only just got to know you (but that is in a professional capacity)therefore, on a personal note, I just wanted to say that you, as a family, are a sheer inspiration. In seeing your dedication to not only helping Rhys but also others has strengthened my belief that charity does not begin at home and that all of us should strive to do the best we can to offer a helping hand to anyone in need.

I look forward to seeing you on Sunday night, which I am sure will be a great success.

Please allow me to introduce myself. My name is Sgt Wayne Swiggs (RAF), known to most as Swiggsy. I am a trustee on the Royal Air Forces Association charity and I have just arrived back from our Annual Conference which was held in Bournemouth.

During the course of this weekend I had the absolute pleasure to meet Kevin, the Dad of the special, courageous Harris family. I do wish I had met Kevin in different circumstances but nonetheless am glad that I did because I got to hear all about the inimitable Rhys!

Not only was I lucky enough to hear about Rhys by meeting Kevin personally but I was also in the audience when he gave a short, ‘from-the-heart’ talk about many aspects to do with fundraising, raising awareness, support and of course little-big Rhys. It was inspiring and very moving - so much so, the audience needed a 10 minute break to regain composure!

Kevin, your love and passion, drive and strength has been infectious. I hope to hear from you soon because I would love to hear how the little man is getting on. Further to this, I also have a few exhilarating ideas for fundraising that might be of interest!

Yours in the Royal Air Forces Association,

Swiggsy

Dear Kevin, Dawn, Rhys and Morgan,

I am so pleased for you to hear the news about the match for Rhys. You must all be very excited and cautious at the same time.

I am trying to keep the momentum up for more people to join the bone marrow register, and was amazed at the response we had at UHW a couple of weeks ago. I understand that Team 2 Gill Barker and crew are going to continue the drive at the Race(s) for Life across Wales.

Best wishes and luck for the future.
